How to resolve display issues or network connection issues on the Gira G1 KNX Room controller

When using a shielded Cat6 or Cat7 cable (recommended) display issues can be caused by incorrect termination of the shield or drain.


On the G1 this should be making firm contact with the metal plate underneath the cable retention clip.

A metal strip is included with the G1 bus coupler which should be wrapped around the cable to create a positive connection to the metal plate.

The cable also needs to be connected to the ground at the other end of the cable.


Incorrect termination of the cable can cause issues with the video display when using the door communications functions and can also be responsible for an intermittent network connection.
